Well-selected minerals and vitamins for bone health
Healthwell Bone Support contains a complex of minerals and vitamins that are important for the normal function of the bone structure. Together, they help you preserve the function you have today and live an active life. In Bone Support you will find, among other things, calcium, MSM, magnesium and boron. To optimize calcium absorption, vitamins C and D are added and to contribute to calcium regulation, vitamin K is added.
Calcium is the most abundant mineral in our bones. It is very important for our bones to stay strong. Magnesium is also found in the skeleton and contributes to the metabolism of calcium. The sulfur compound MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is in turn a substance that is found naturally in the body. It is an important component of the proteins collagen, which helps to build up bones, connective tissue, cartilage and tendons.
In Healthwell Bone Support, the mineral boron is also added, which is found naturally in the bone structure. There it interacts with vitamin D, which promotes the turnover of calcium. Boron has also been highlighted in several studies regarding skeletal health (1).
Combine with Joint support
For best results, we recommend combining Bone Support with our other supplement Joint Support. While Bone Support helps to strengthen the skeleton, Joint Support can help maintain the natural mobility of the joints. The products thus complement each other and together provide the best conditions for maintaining a strong and functioning body even into old age.
What is our skeleton made of?
Our skeleton consists of a total of 206 bones, all of which are made of compact and spongy bone tissue. Compact bone tissue is heavy and dense. It contains nerves, lymphatic vessels and blood vessels. The spongy bone tissue is lighter and contains bone marrow and cavities. Together, this makes the skeleton strong, but not too heavy. Bone tissue consists of the protein collagen and various minerals, mainly calcium. Magnesium and boron also help to build up the bone structure and are therefore important for good bone health. Each bone is surrounded by a thin periosteum, where there are blood vessels that transport nutrients and oxygen to the bone.
What is osteoporosis?
Osteoporosis is a condition where the skeleton gradually weakens. During the course of life, the mineral density of the skeleton changes. Already in the 30s and 40s, the body's build-up of bone mass begins to go slower than the breakdown. As we get older, our ability to absorb calcium also decreases. This leads to an increased risk of osteoporosis. Therefore, it is especially important that we get enough of the mineral as we get older. In addition, it is especially important that we get vitamin D, which helps the body absorb calcium. A too low amount of vitamin D can therefore also lead to the bone structure becoming calcified.
