Use of diffusers and air purifiers

There are many types of air purifiers and diffusers. It is important to think about where in your home it will be placed and what its purpose is. In a traditional air purifier, indoor air is driven through various filters with a fan. In addition to the filter, which is a carbon filter, there is usually a HEPA filter that traps particles in the air. Mechanical air purifiers are usually used to catch dust mites, allergens from fur and bacteria. By having an air purifier in the home, you can get rid of bad odours and make the air clean and fresh.

A diffuser, also known as an aroma diffuser, is a machine that mixes ordinary water with essential oils which then gives off a fragrant steam. You mix the essential oil of your choice into water to pour into the diffuser. A diffuser with essential oils can be used in any room and stand up to 24 hours. Advantages of aroma diffusers are that they help to raise the humidity in dry homes and keep it at a balanced level. This is positive for both hair and skin as well as plants. You can leave your diffuser when you’re not at home, which makes it much safer than, for example, scented candles or incense.

Tip! It is important to clean your air purifier or diffuser to achieve fresh air.

Benefits of diffusers and air purifiers

Many particles enter our homes from outside, including pollen, dust and exhaust fumes. Having good indoor air quality is good for your health, and it may be worth investing in an air purifier to get cleaner air. It may be worth investing in an air purifier or diffuser if you have asthma or allergies to clean the air. In winter, when the air often gets dry indoors, an air purifier or diffuser can also improve air quality.

Essential oils that can be used in diffusers and air purifiers have many benefits. For example, they can be relaxing, invigorating and provide a feeling of well-being.

Clean the air with essential oils

Essential oils have an effect on our emotions and our mood. Each oil has different properties that affect your mood. Using essential oils to purify the air and spread a pleasant scent can often have a positive effect. The chemical substances are released and spread in the air when the essential oils are heated, such as in a diffuser. Examples of some oils you can use to purify the air in your home and spread a pleasant fragrance are lavender, bergamot, eucalyptus and sandalwood.

Lavender has an aromatic, sweet, floral and slightly herbal scent. Diffuse the fragrance for a relaxing and soothing effect.

Bergamot spreads a fresh citrus fragrance with a herbal and floral scent. The scent has the effect of reducing stress and depression.

Eucalyptus has a mint-like scent that smells fresh and aromatic. Use eucalyptus in a diffuser for coughs, colds or headaches.

Sandalwood has a rich, sweet and woody scent that spreads a soft fragrance. Use for a relaxing effect and to reduce tension.
