100% pure fish oil from cold water
It is important that your fish liver oil is of high quality so that you can enjoy its beneficial properties. One factor that affects the quality of fish oil is the temperature of the water the fish live in. Fish's fat stores are believed to be more energy-rich in cold water. In order for you to get the best possible fish oil, Healthwell Icelandic Omega-3 is made from fish from cold and pure Icelandic water. In addition, it consists of 100% pure fish oil, unlike other fish oils on the market that are mixed with other oils, which although contain omega-3, but lack the important fatty acids DHA and EPA. Some varieties also have a tendency to be made from residues from consumer fish. These factors result in the oil containing a very small amount of fatty acids in comparison to the amount of omega-3 and having a short shelf life. Instead, we want to offer you the best oil possible, where each dose gives you the highest possible amount of the quality fatty acids EPA and DHA.
High content of EPA and DHA
With Healthwell Icelandic Omega-3, you get 1100 mg of omega-3 per daily dose, with as much as 400 g of EPA and 500 mg of DHA in each serving. This makes Healthwell Icelandic Omega-3 one of the most highly-dosed fish liver oils on the market. EPA and DHA are the omega-3 fatty acids that have received the most attention when it comes to our health. Both of these fatty acids contribute to the function of the heart and vessels. Among other things, they have been shown to lower blood fats and reduce the dangerous cholesterol. DHA also contributes to normal vision, brain development in children and to maintaining normal brain function in adults.
To be able to take advantage of these beneficial health effects, we need to ingest 250 mg of EPA and DHA daily. However, many people find it difficult to reach this level through their regular diet. This is partly because many people do not eat fatty fish such as salmon often enough (2-3 times a week is recommended). In addition, the farmed salmon we buy in the store has been shown to contain lower levels of the beneficial fatty acids EPA and DHA. One reason for this is that the fish's feed is not nutritious enough. Wild-caught salmon is therefore a better alternative from this point of view - as long as it comes from clean water. Unfortunately, much of the wild-caught fish comes from polluted seas, which means that it can contain high levels of environmental toxins and heavy metals. A high-quality fish oil such as Healthwell Icelandic Omega-3 can therefore be an excellent alternative to ensure your needs are met.
Liquid oil that can be used by the whole family
A liquid fish oil has several benefits, and is easy to ingest as you don’t have to swallow and wash down large pills or capsules. You can also pour it into a smoothie or other beverage, which can make it easier for smaller children to ingest the healthy fish oil. As the oil is neutral in taste, you also avoid the aftertaste of fish. Healthwell Icelandic Omega-3 is also adapted for the whole family. For younger children, a half dose (0.5 teaspoon) is recommended and from the age of 12 a full dose (1 teaspoon).
